My name is Kristy, I am 27 and live in Kansas City, MO. I have two cats of my own, Gaby and Ashtyn. I adopted both of them about 8 years ago, when I was 18. I foster cats for the Parkville Animal Shelter. I volunteer at the shelter as well. I also volunteer for Spay Neuter Kansas City. I help out in cat recovery, after the cats are spayed or neutered. I also help with the Pet Assistance Program and go out into the community and help dogs who are living on a chain.

I am a very outspoken (but respectful) person on animal welfare and I try to educate others anytime the opportunity arises. I very strongly believe that the way we treat our animals reflects a lot about us as humans. My wish is that one day, all animals will have homes and all of those animals will live lives free from abuse, neglect and cruelty.

When I graduate, and have a lot more money, I want to start my own cat rescue. I don't think there can ever be enough animal rescues around, as there are so many animals that need homes. I believe spaying and neutering animals will end a lot of needless suffering.
