Why I love this shelter

This shelter is run by primarily volunteers. I think there are two people who are paid for cleaning weekday mornings. I work with the cats and I don't know much about the people who work with the dogs. The "cat house" as they call it is actually a two story house, just for the cats. The cats have their cages cleaned twice a day. Each time someone comes in to clean, the cats get fresh food, water, litter and linens. Each cat has at least one toy, many have more than that. There are cat trees and window loungers where cats can sleep for the afternoon.

The cat volunteers do as much as they can to make sure the cats are comfortable, healthy and occupied with toys to keep from getting bored. Volunteers, like myself, sit with the cats and pet them and love them. We give them what they need to be as happy as possible.

Many volunteers foster cats and help out at adoptions. I feel that this shelter is one of the very best. This is a no-kill shelter so cats are treated for illnesses or worked with to reduce behavior problems.
